I’m working on what is intended to become a sparse voxel octree ray tracer. At the moment it only renders dense matrices of color values, but does so using the GPU. I am writing the program in C++ and using OpenCL for rendering on the GPU. Data is read from a very simple PNG based format at the moment and then uploaded to the GPU for rendering.

Here is a video of the latest version running on my 2010 13″ Macbook Air.
